The Samuel Harrison Society (SHS) hosted a Gala to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of our first Gala held in 2005. The event was held at the Berkshire Hills Country Club on July 12, 2025 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. Board member Roberta McCulloch-Dews presided as Mistress of Ceremony. Pittsfield Mayor Peter Marchetti delivered a proclamation to SHS President Marlena Willis and Vice President Blayne Whitfield. The following recipients received awards during the program by SHS President Marlena Willis. These individuals were instrumental in the success of the SHS mission to restore and preserve Samuel Harrison's home. John Bissell - President of Greylock Federal Credit Union (a grant provider) Ivan Newton - Second Congregational Church historian and former SHS Vice PresidentJames Roberto - Former Mayor of PittsfieldLinda Tyer - Former City Councilor and Mayor of PittsfieldJohn James - Architect for the restoration of the Samuel Harrison HouseBonnie Gallant - Grant writer for the initial grants received for the restoration of the Samuel Harrison HouseJohn Olver (Posthumously) - Grant supporter Wanda Houston was the SHS special guest soloist. The SHS would like to thank the NAACP Berkshire Branch for their sponsorship. The SHS also thanks Greylock FCU, Multicultural Bridge, and Westside Legends (WSL).
